Lucky you guys! I get to email you right now since I am
leaving tomorrow! I have leaving the MTC at 3:20 in the morning. My flight
leaves at 7:30 in the morning and then I should get to Chicago at about 11:31
AM to be exact. I am not quite packed yet, but let´s be honest I always finish
at the last second. I don´t really know what to expect, but I think it
should be good. You know me I am definitely craving some Taco Bell and a Mountain
Dew at the moment, so we will see how long it takes me to get there. It is
weird to think that this is real life!
A lot has actually happened since my last email just what
like three days ago. Last night we had the coolest celebration ever! The
Mexicans sure love their country. They had lots of singing and dancing, I took
a few pictures so I hope that they will look okay. I am not quite the
photographer that my father is. At the end the sang the EFY medley and it was
so amazing! I don´t think I stopped smiling all night long. I have been able to
experience a lot of cool things culturally in my life, and I have to say they
put on a very awesome show last night. My whole district feels like
it was just a send off party for us. There is something else going on
tonight to celebrate Mexico Independence. I guess the President of Mexico says
something and they broadcast it to the whole country, it should be pretty
interesting. I think my companion and I will stay up for it, I mean who really
needs sleep.
But probably one of the best things is that I got to speak
in church today. Everyone is supposed to prepare a talk every week and then
after the Sacrament is passed they announce the program for the day. Usually,
after you have spoken once you don´t speak again so no one prepares talks
anymore. Well, I hadn´t spoken yet and it being our last Sunday everyone was
sure I would be speaking, so I prepared myself a nice little talk on how God is
our loving heavenly father. We head on over to Sacrament and who is seating in
our Sacrament meeting? Yep, that´s right President and Hermana Pratt who at the
CCM Presidents. I just knew in the moment I would be speaking. I think my talk
went pretty well and I only said like one thing in English. They kind of expect
our talk to be in complete Spanish by your last week.
It is amazing how this time next week I will have already
had some of my first lessons out in the field in Spanish! There is no way I
could do this without the help of my Savior, Lord, and Redeemer; Jesus Crist. We
are so blessed to have so many great and wonderful things in our lives. Love
you all!
Hermana Peterson
